Books, books everywhere

So, the pile of books on my list has once again grown, and I find it time to give each book a little mention now, and a review in the forthcoming days. So, now I am reading:

Room - Emma Donaghue
Three Cups of Tea - Greg Mortensen
The Happiness Project - Gretchen Rubin

Life of Pi

Having finished Life of Pi by Yann Martel, I wanted to share a few more thoughts on it.

If you are unfamiliar with the book, it follows the life of an Indian boy named Pi Patel who gets stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal Tiger who he names Richard Parker. The novel details the trials that Pi goes through being stranded for so long with no food, no safe water to drink and a carnivorous animal in his life boat with him.

When Pi finally gets rescued, he goes through the trials of trying to get people to understand and believe his stories, because he tells them more than one, and finally makes his way out and gets to Canada.

I would say that this book is something that everyone should read at least once.

Books, Books, Books

So, as per usual, I've been reading. A lot. So, I just wanted to share some books I've been on about lately and a short read it or don't with each book.

Life of Pi - Yann Martel - about half way through. Like it so far, and can tell it's going to be a must read. It's very well written.

Why We're Liberals - Eric Alterman - all I can say is: if you're progressive, you'll love this book, if you're conservative, you probably won't.

Around the World in 80 Dates - Christa Ann Banister - not very well written, jumps all over the places. Save your time for better stuff.

Blessed are the Meddlers - Christa Ann Banister - read above review.

More to come soon.
