"Not my daughter, you bitch!"

For this round of blogging, I am going to share some of my favorite quotes from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  Enjoy!

"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” - Dumbledore

"And that's the second time we've saved your life tonight, you two-faced bastard!" - Ron Weasley

"Merlins Pants!" - Hermione

“I'll join you when Hell freezes over," said Neville. "Dumbledore's Army!" he shouted, and there was an answering cheer from the crowd, whom Voldemort's Silencing Charms seemed unable to hold.”

"I won't blast people out of my way just because they're there' said Harry. 'That's Voldemort's job.”

“Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf!”

"Will you stay with me?"
"Until the very end.”

"They clambered over him and onto the spiral stone staircase that moved slowly up like an escalator.  Harry pushed open the door at the top.  He had one, brief glimpse of the stone Pensieve on the desk where he had left it, and then an earsplitting noise made him cry out, thinking of curses and Death Eaters and the rebirth of Voldemort -  But it was applause.  All around the walls, the headmaster and headmistresses of Hogwarts were giving him a standing ovation.....But Harry had only eyes for the man who stood in the largest portrait directly behind the headmaster's chair.  Tears were sliding down from behind the half-moon spectacles into the long silver beard, and the pride and gratitude emanating from him filled Harry with the same balm as a phoenix song."

"I'm Holey... Get it?"

Every time I read a Harry Potter book, I get caught up in the characters and the writing.  I find there whole world fascinating!  Hogwarts, Quidditch, Diagon Alley, Apparition - all fascinating.

If you have never read any of my blog posts on Harry Potter, there might be some things you don't know.

My favorite characters in the HP series are Fred and George.  I love them!

I cry every time I read the part of the book where Fred dies.  Every.  Single.  Time.

I secretly wish that Harry and Hermione had ended up together.  Don't get me wrong - I love Ginny, Ron and the rest of the Weasley Family, but Harry and Hermione seem like such a fabulous match.

For a long time, I really disliked Severus Snape - I mean, look at everything his character does throughout the series.  But by the end of HP and The Deathly Hallows, I found myself really liking him!  He's full of love after all!

If you're a fan of the HP series, I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on the books, movies or characters or your favorite moments!  Share them here.

To end, if you've never seen a Potter Pals video, here is one I just couldn't resist sharing. Enjoy:

"Star People are Rare"

This was a splendid second reading of a book that I absolutely love!  Stargirl resonates with me in a way I can only explain here with the following quotes:

"We wanted to define her, to wrap her up as we did each other, but we could not seem to get past "weird" and "strange" and "goofy." Her ways knocked us off balance. ”
― Jerry SpinelliStargirl

“Why fit in when you're born to stand out?”
― Jerry SpinelliStargirl

Surely every human is made to stand out, to be themselves, to get to the core of who they are and let their freak flag fly.

Reading Stargirl makes me think of all the people who don't stand out, because they are afraid of what will happen.  They deny who they are and keep their true selves buried.  For those people, I hope someday they meet their own personal Stargirl who can help set them free and teach them to be themselves.

Like, Let's Read

So, tomorrow is, once again, the Dewey's 24 hour Readathon.  I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted to read, and even did a list of books back in March.  But then, I changed my mind about some books!  SO,  Here are the books I've added to my revised list of reading for the big event:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling Let's be honest - with Harry Potter you can never go wrong!

Allegiant - Veronica Roth Fast and easy, this final book in the Divergent series should be easy to get through!

Stargirl - Jerry Spinelli I've read this before, and I loved it!  It is sure to make this readathon fun.

The Golden Compass - Philip Pullman  If you've never read this book, it is a must, along with the rest of the series.  These books are all fab, and this readathon is the perfect time to re-read the first one.

I decided to just drop the manga for this read-a-thon and go with novels.  They are all diverse enough that it should keep me interested!

The read-a-thon start time for me is 7 a.m.!  (Right?!)  So, I will *likely* go to bed early tonight (after getting some snacks ready) so I can be bright and ready tomorrow, when my day will look kind of like this:
