Fate whispers to the warrior, ‘You cannot withstand the storm.’
The warrior whispers back, ‘I am the storm.’
Loren Mackenzie has spent much of her life honing her body to meet the physical challenges of being a professional cyclist in the women’s European peloton. She has also refined the control of her mind, using the power of her emotions in competition to become one of the elite cyclists in the world. After an accident at the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic, Loren must rise to the challenge of leading her team as the Women’s World Tour races across Europe, culminating with the opportunity to compete at the World Championships in Richmond, Virgina.
When a chance meeting develops into a whirlwind romance, what appears to be the perfect relationship threatens to unravel Loren’s tightly wound life. The microscope of tabloid media attention dredges up fears that her past will be unearthed; tragic secrets she has kept buried, even from those closest to her.
Can Loren face the trauma of her past and vanquish the demons within, or will betrayal and obsession ultimately defeat her?

Sara was born in the wee hours of a November night in New York City. When her family moved to a small borough in northwestern New Jersey, she had little choice but to move as well. Self-sufficiency is a tough thing for a toddler.

The dichotomy of being the middle child of three, but the only girl, was difficult, as typically no one really pays attention to a middle child. Mostly, Sara spent her time creating fanciful stories in her head when she should have been focused on other things, an issue that continues to this day.

Most of these stories have never been shared, let alone completed. This all changed in the spring of 2015, when Sara was encouraged by a friend to expand upon a short story she had accidentally emailed to him. The result is 'Wheeler’, a romantic, women's fiction/sport novel, which combines the author's romantic inclinations and her passion for cycling.

Sara currently resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, with her loving husband and their son. She is a paralegal for a boutique law firm in Chester County, Pa, an avid road cyclist and indoor cycling instructor at a national chain.

Aviva Women’s Tour, Stage 5
Marlow to Hemel Hempstead, 102.6km

The next morning, Loren arrived at the start line shortly after the rest of the riders formed up. Thanks to Aria’s treatments, her sore muscles weren’t troubling her, but she knew it was only a matter of time. She slipped on her dark mirrored sunglasses to keep anyone from seeing the dark half-moons under her eyes. Shut it out. Shut everything out. I am the storm.
When the head steward announced her name, she raised her hand in acknowledgment but didn’t smile. Heather moved up next to her.
“You look like shit,” she said.
“I’m fine,” Loren replied, scowling. “And fuck you, too.”

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the fifth and final stage of the Aviva Women’s Tour. Today’s stage travels 102.6 kilometers from Marlow to Hemel Hempstead.”
“Thank you, Peter. Seventeen seconds separate the Tour’s leader, IDC’s Loren Mackenzie from Heather Ross of Team USA. As we join the action, the peloton has remained intact through the first twelve kilometers.”

Loren shadowed her former teammate at the front, and as the kilometers ticked by, Heather had glanced back at her several times. As Ross turned her head yet again, Loren’s already frayed temper snapped.
“Would you stop fucking around and go already,” she growled, then cringed as Ross’ teammate Amber Moll turned her head.

“Friendships dissolve at the start line as Ross begins her assault on Mackenzie’s lead.”
“Indeed, and we have an answer from Mackenzie as she goes headlong after Ross, taking three more riders with her. As I recall, both ladies were rising stars in the US with GTS Pro Cycling, but have now taken different paths.”
“They certainly have. Ross is prime domestique with Team USA, while Mackenzie has come into her own as the leader of IDC here in Britain.”

Loren caught Heather in short order but wasn’t about to fall into line. She narrowed her gaze at the back of her former teammate. You’re gonna have to suffer if you want this. With her hands into the drop bars, she gathered her anger like a cloak and took charge of the breakaway.

“As we head to Cryer’s Hill, Mackenzie has set a blistering pace, looking to claim those Queen of the Mountain points.”
“But Mackenzie gets blocked by GoreTech’s Federov and can’t hold off Ross’ effort up the climb as she shoots ahead and stakes her claim.”
“It’s a hard ride staying ahead with the narrow country roads of Buckinghamshire. If you’re not in the front and ready to rumble, you’ll be taken to the kerb.”

As the breakaway group sped on ahead of the peloton, none of the other riders would allow Loren to rotate out, forcing her to keep the high pace alone.
Motherfuckingsonsofbitches! They’re trying to hang me! She gnashed her teeth. Fine. You want a fight, I’ll give you a fight. Just before she shifted gear to take off, Ulrik’s voice crackled over her radio.
“Don’t fall for it, Loren. Ross knows how to needle you. Don’t do their work for them.”
She grimaced. Damn, he’s right. She stopped pedaling and sat up a bit as the other riders either slowed down with her or took over at the front. Heather did a double-take as Loren slipped back into her draft, but it would be another ten kilometers before she could execute her revenge.

“What an attack by IDC’s Loren Mackenzie, catching the bunch by surprise! She’s certainly making her point today, forcing her rivals to chase her down.”
“Two riders have already been blown off the back, but the challenge for all will be the climb at Tom’s Hill Road and its technical descent.”
“There’ll be another gathering of the minds for the sprint points at Little Gaddesden, not too far away as well.”

Loren settled into a hard rhythm, her chin down and hands in the drops. She extended her awareness, taking in the sounds around her: the whistle of the wind, the breathing of the other riders around her, the whoosh of her heartbeat in her ears. From her right, the hum of tires on blacktop became louder, with a faint chink every time the pedals rotated.
That’s Cole behind me, and I bet Heather is sucking her wheel. If I go all out on the climb, neither can keep on me. But do I have enough? She clenched her jaw. I am the storm. I am enough.

“Mackenzie isn’t going to let anyone else take the Queen of the Mountain points from her this time. Look at that assault on the climb! I don’t even think she shifted gears, Peter.”
“That’s just a show of raw power, Michaela. Her seventeen second lead has been stretched to twenty-five, thanks to those points. However, if Ross and Cole continue to work together, they might well catch Mackenzie before the final intermediate sprint at Little Gaddesden.”

Loren could see the sprint banner flapping in the wind ahead, even as she heard the others catching up to her. Ulrik came over her radio then.
“You’ve got a bit of a cushion, Loren. Let them catch you. All you have to do is hold steady with Ross.”
As the other riders swarmed around her for the sprint, she dropped her head, only slightly exaggerating the fatigue she felt. Heather stayed in her draft and Loren clenched her hands around the bars as her anger flared up.
You fucking bitch. First, you steal my college boyfriend, then you sleep with Phillipe. Now you’re stealing my draft! You’re fucking going down.

“And now the neutral car’s steward holds up a sign, showing the breakaway riders there are ten kilometers left.”
“There goes Loren Mackenzie, back on the offensive with a blistering attack! She’s hunkered down for the long haul now. If she can hold on, they might not catch her before the finish.”

Her pace began to slack with three kilometers remaining and Loren focused on just turning the pedals. Just push harder here. Hold on for a few more meters. I can do it.

“There’s been a bit of a falter in Mackenzie’s form as her pain barrier has been pushed to the limit. Hopefully, she can suppress it a little longer.”
“Even if Ross catches her, Mackenzie is the virtual winner on the road. The fight now is for second.”
“We’re down to the final kilometer, with Loren Mackenzie of IDC still out in front. She’s lit the entire matchbook to keep herself ahead!”

As Loren passed under the one-kilometer banner, cheers from the crowd told her someone was coming up from behind, and fast.
I’ve worked this hard. There’s no fucking way I’m letting anyone beat me now. She banked hard into the corner then jumped out of the saddle to give everything she had left.

“Heading into the final turn at 500 meters, will she let it go? No! Mackenzie has found some dynamite in her pocket and takes one final leap out of the saddle! She finishes a wheel length in front of Heather Ross.”
“What a nail-biting finish! IDC’s Loren Mackenzie takes stage 5 and wins the Aviva Women’s Tour!”

Loren rolled to a stop several meters beyond the finish and hung over the handlebars. Don’t get sick. Don’t get sick. As each of her teammates crossed the finish line, they gathered around her, screaming and hugging her.
“Okay, okay. Don’t jostle me too much,” she groaned.
Cece held out her arms. “Back up! She’s gonna hurl!”
“Cut it out, Cece,” Loren grumbled. As Sven held her bike, she slowly dismounted and thanked him, then caught Ingrid and Cece exchanging a glance.
“Here, I’ll help you.” Ingrid grabbed Loren’s elbow and all but dragged her to the anti-doping area. After the drug testing was complete, Loren climbed the steps of the main stage where the head steward was waiting for her.
After the announcer presented her as the overall winner, an aide helped her don a clean, long sleeved yellow jersey backward and zipped it up, so the sponsors’ logos could be prominently displayed. She tried not to grimace as she pulled the jersey away from her throat.
Loren plastered a smile on her face and waved to the crowd, then turned to shake the hand of the Tour representative who helped her with the jersey. She then turned to the right to accept the customary bouquet of flowers and almost fell off the podium in shock.
“Hiya.” Actor, Graham Atherton beamed at her as he presented a bouquet of brightly colored Gerbera daisies to her. He kissed her right cheek, then her left. “Congratulations.”
Before he could back away, Loren snaked her arm around his neck. “You’re not getting away that easy,” she laughed as Graham steadied her with an arm around her waist, chuckling as he kissed her.
Cheers rang out even louder as Loren held her arms up high. I won. She flashed a grin at Graham. I’ll be really pissed off if this is a dream!

Every Heart a Doorway - Seanan McGuire

Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children
No Solicitations
No Visitors
No Quests

Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere... else.

But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children.

Nancy tumbled once, but now she’s back. The things she’s experienced... they change a person. The children under Miss West’s care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.

But Nancy’s arrival marks a change at the Home. There’s a darkness just around each corner, and when tragedy strikes, it’s up to Nancy and her new-found schoolmates to get to the heart of the matter.

No matter the cost.

Every Heart a Doorway is based on the idea that children can, at the right times in their lives, find a doorway to a world that is perfectly suited to each particular child.  Nancy, for example, spent time in an underworld where she spent time being perfectly still because that's what she needed and liked at the time her door opened.

The downside to children entering these worlds is that they can be sent out at any time.  Children who are sent out from their worlds and want to go back find themselves staying at Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children.

This novel was amazing and delightful and horrifying all at once.  When Nancy arrives at the Home for Wayward Children, she is greeted by Eleanor and sent to room with Sumi.  Sumi came from a world with lots of candy and colors and Eleanor thinks they will work well as roommates.  All goes well until a kid turns up dead.

Before I go giving too much away, let me tell you:

Things I liked About This Book:

* Sumi.  Just her character was so fun and wonderful!
* The fact that this book addresses what it's like to be a transgender teen.  Kade was assigned female, but he's a guy, and he talks about it and speculates that his parents were disappointed when he comes out as trans.  The book also has some transphobia in the form of a character who flat out tells Kade that he is disgusting.  (Just so you know: I support trans men and women, so I think what this other character says to Kade is deplorable.  If you have an issue with trans people, you likely won't enjoy reading my blog or this book.  However, I think everyone should just get over it.)
* The idea that characters can travel to other worlds.  It's been done before and it's always awesome.
*The writing.  While I do feel that it was a bit obvious who the killer was, I do feel that the actual writing is very good, even if the story itself felt a bit obvious.
*Nancy is asexual and the author approaches that with such normalcy.  I love that.  I think it's important for people to understand that some people are just asexual, and that that's okay!

Things I Didn't Really Like About This Book:

*Kids are getting killed at this school, and Eleanor doesn't even think about sending them home and closing the school.  She just tells them to walk around with other people, because everyone knows THAT WILL STOP YOU FROM BEING KILLED.
*The story felt like it could have been fleshed out some more.  Even when someone had just been killed, it still felt like nothing was happening. Like, Hey, that kid just died, but let's sit here and drink some hot chocolate and talk about how good the whipped cream is.
*It was clear from the get-go who was responsible.  We didn't even need some dead person's bones to tell us.

This is a quick read, and something worth checking out if you like easy to solve murder/horror stories.

Chapter 1 Excerpt
"This is gonna be wicked." I smiled and glanced over at my closest friend, Jackson. "You sure you're up for this shit tonight?"
He snorted and reached up to brush his hand by his nose. The cockiness in his eyes was almost too much, but it mirrored mine - no doubt.
"I just hope these other guys you're bringing from the hospital don't mess up the flow." He glanced my way and smirked. "You do remember how to do this, right?"
"Pick up a woman?" I chuckled and nodded at the bouncer at the front of the strip club. "It's what I do when I'm not saving lives. It's you who might need dusting off."
"Not a chance, asshole." He popped me in the chest with the back of his hand and made a beeline for the bar.
I stopped and glanced around the darkened room, the lights perfect for the clientele littered all over the club. Sexy jazz music pumped from the speakers above, and the fog machine was in full effect.
"Over here, man." Freddy, one of my favorite residents from St. Marks waved me over. "We saved you a seat and got you a present."
I rolled my eyes as he extended his hand, his thick finger wrapped around a bundle of one dollar bills. "You think the type of woman I plan on fucking in the bathroom tonight is going to be impressed with such small bills?"
"Oh Gawd." Darek, one of the surgeons I worked with gave me a look. "Please tell me you're kidding. Do you know how many germs there are in a bathroom?"
I snatched up the bills and grabbed a beer from the bucket of them in the center of the table. "I'll make sure to sanitize my cock before and after. Sound good?"
The table erupted in laughter, and the tension in my chest released. I was with friends for the night, and I was, without a doubt, getting laid by a woman who knew her way around a man.
"Where's Aiden?" I glanced back toward the bar to see Jackson flirting with the bartender. He always had to go after the most challenging lay in the room. It was almost a game to him.
"You know Elizabeth isn't going to let him come to a titty bar." Freddy reached over and gripped the back of my shoulder, squeezing tightly as he leaned closer and whispered. "He'll stop by on his way home. Just don't tell on him."
I shook my head. "I don't know why he settled down."
"Have you seen Elizabeth?"
"Yeah, she's beautiful, but still." I took a long drink of my beer. "Complete ball and chain. Not worth the effort."
"You don't think anyone is worth the effort." Darek glanced over his shoulder and smiled. "Now, get up front. We all made a pact on who you would pick tonight."
"You've already seen the girls?" I turned back to my friends and smiled.
"Nope, but you've got a type." Freddy moved around me to extend his hand to Jackson. My best friend was the only one of my friends not in the medical field. "Hey, Jackson. What you know, man?"
"I don't have a type." I took another sip of my beer and turned to see my mentor, Aiden Crawford walk through the door of the club.
"Sure you do." Darek smiled. "She's gotta be alive and has more plastic than a bottling company."
"Fuck you too." I flipped him off and walked toward Aiden.
He nodded toward my lifted hand. "That for me?"
I smiled. "You're not that lucky." I extended my hand toward him. "You bring Lizzy with you?"
He chuckled. "No, and I'm not staying. I just wanted to stop by and tell you that I'm here if you need me."
"Here? Like at the titty bar? It doesn’t really fit your style, old man."
He gripped my hand tightly as a smirk played at the corner of his mouth. "Make me proud at Boston Gen, okay? Do what you need to do and come back home."
I shook his hand and nodded. "I feel like I'm about blast the fuck off into space. Do I need to give a short speech or anything?"
"No, you cocky bastard." He released my hand and patted my chest as his eyes darkened a little. There was no one I respected more than Aiden. He was a god in the operating room and was brilliant with technique and precise with his skill. Everyone at St. Mark's wanted to be Aiden Crawford - even me.
And I would. One day.
"Anything else?" I gripped his forearm as he wrapped his fingers around the side of my neck as he had a hundred times. The man was like an older brother to me. I wanted his approval, and I had it.
"Yes. Don't fuck with my sister. She's been through a lot, and she's just the kind of woman that would excite a sick fuck like you." He squeezed the side of my neck, leaving me a little uncomfortable. "Support her. Teach and train her staff, but don't you dare touch her."
"Dude. Your sister is old like you, right? I'm into younger women. They're pliable. You guys are stuck in your ways, and if we're being honest," I leaned closer and smiled like a tomcat. "Boooooring."
He smiled and released me, patting me on the chest again. "I'm serious. She and Gwen are all I have left in the world for family. Don't do something you'll regret."
I held up a boy scout sign, hoping I was getting the damn thing right. "On scout’s honor."
"That doesn't work unless you were a scout, idiot." He moved to the side a little and waved at the guys at the table before turning back to me. "Be on time. Be precise. Show them what we've trained you to be at St. Marks. No fucking around with the nurses like you do here."
"Alright, Dad. I think I got it." I winked and crossed my arms over my chest. "Tell Lizzy I said hey."
"Not a chance." He gave me one more stern look and turned to walk out, calling over his shoulder, "I'm here if you need anything. Just a
call away."
I stood there for a minute, taking in his advice, his warning, and his offer. I wouldn't mess with his sisters, either one of them. He meant too much to me, and I'd been honest about not liking older women. They were too fucking bossy or insanely confident. I wasn't interested in either.
Sluts were the name of the game. Easy in and out. No commitment and no chance of getting my balls, my wallet and my heart pulled through a ringer.
"That go well?" Jackson moved up beside me, his eyes locked on the door where Aiden had left moments before.
"Yep. He said to stay away from his sister." I smiled over at him. "Some part of me wants her even more now."
He laughed and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, turning us and walked us back toward the guys as the first girl made her way out on stage. "Have you seen this broad?"
"Nope." I pulled away from him and moved up to the stage, smiling up at the platinum blond as I pulled out a one dollar bill and waved it in the air. "And I don't need to see her. I'm going for the young, dumb, insecure ones."
"Cause they make you feel better about yourself?" He lifted his hand with a hundred dollar bill clasped between his fingers.
Asshole. Always trying to show someone up.
The girl snatched my bill and moved over to him and tugged his from his fingers slowly, seductively. She knelt down in front of Jackson and smiled, her tits spilling out of the tiny blue bikini-like
top she had on. "Want a lap dance, baby?"
I snorted. "You just gotta be first, don't you?"
He glanced at me and winked. "You gotta up the ante sometimes, Parks. Shit or get off the pot, right? You're not going to land this older woman with little boy tricks."
"I don't wanna land her. I want a slut, like this girl." I nodded toward the girl as my mood darkened. Jackson had no room to talk about growing up. He was a playboy billionaire that still fucked a different girl each night, and most of them in his high dollar office with the world watching from the windows.
He turned back to the girl and pulled out another hundred. "Two hundred for a quick fuck for my friend here?"
"Absolutely." She snatched the money and jumped off the stage, grabbing my hand and tugging me back toward the darkest part of the club.
I gripped her hand tightly and jerked, pulling her back and wrapping an arm around her to steady her. "I don't need you taking the lead, princess."
"Then you take it," she whispered and ran her hand down my chest to cup my dick. Her dark red fingernails matched her lipstick and should have been a turn on, but it wasn't.
"I just did." I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers, dominating the kiss as she melted against me. My eyes fluttered closed, and I imagined her to be someone worthy of my time and attention, the kind of woman I would give up my wanton bullshit for. I had no doubt that girl existed somewhere, but I was unwilling to go in
search of her. She'd have to exist somewhere in the recess of my mind.
"Let's go to the back." She nipped at my lips, her blue eyes filled with lust.
"No. Let’s fuck here." I dropped down in a chair close to the edge of the stage and reached for my zipper. "Make it look like a lap dance, and I'll throw in an extra hundred. Make me come before you do, and I'll throw in five hundred."
She laughed and looked around as if I were kidding. "Really? Right here?"
"You're a slut. You're used to a crowd watching you get off." I pulled a condom from my pocket and bit the edge of the packaging. "It's a big dick though. You're going to have to work hard to hide it firstly, and not soak it too quickly. You down?"
I pulled the rubber out and slipped my hand into my slacks to grab my cock. My erection had nothing to do with her, and everything to do with the thrill of an exhibition. My job was the only thing that left my blood really pumping as of late, so fucking in public seemed rather appetizing.
"Fine. You're on." She turned and rolled her hips, moving to stand in front of me as I pulled my dick out and slid the rubber down it. It was just dark enough, and there was far too much going on up on the stage for anyone to pay us much attention at all.
"You're going down, baby." I reached up and gripped her hips as she leaned forward and dug her fake nails into my thighs. She wrapped her hand around my cock and tugged her panties to the
side with her free hand.
I leaned back and held on tightly as she let out a long yelp as she slid down my thick shaft. "You're so big. I'm not sure I can-"
"Hush. Save your breath for pants and moans." I lifted my hips and filled her loose slit with the rest of my cock before patting the side of her ass once I hit home. "Get busy. You know the rules."
She lifted up and slammed back down, dancing and rolling her hips as she fucked herself good. I reached up and cupped my hands behind my head, watching her until I grew bored. I glanced over at the table to find my friends watching me with confused looks.
Freddy tilted his head to the side and gave me a look. He mouthed, 'Is she fucking you?'
I smiled and shrugged. I wasn't the kiss and tell type.
"Don't stop." I gripped a cheek of her thick ass and lifted my hips as she hovered above me, shaking a little and panting loudly.
"Just a minute. I'm so close. I don't want to lose."
"Sorry, but I have people waiting on me." I pulled her back down and rolled my hips as she exploded, convulsing and jerking above me.
I reached around to grab one of her tits and pumped my hips a few times, forcing myself to release just to take the edge off a little.
Life was about to change drastically, and even if I played it off well in front of everyone else, I was fucked up on the inside.
I'd been in New York my whole goddamn life. What in the world did Boston have to offer?

“Not since Nora Roberts has anyone been able to write a big family romance series with every book as good as the last! Bella Andre never disappoints!” Revolving Bookcase Reviews
Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she’s convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he?
As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is–until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love–and protect–her, but will she let him?
For thirty-six years, Marcus Sullivan has been the responsible older brother, stepping in to take care of his seven siblings after their father died when they were children. But when the perfectly ordered future he’s planned for himself turns out to be nothing but a lie, Marcus needs one reckless night to shake free from it all.
Nicola Harding is known throughout the world by only one name – Nico – for her catchy, sensual pop songs. Only, what no one knows about the twenty-five year old singer is that her sex-kitten image is totally false. After a terrible betrayal by a man who loved fame far more than he ever loved her, she vows not to let anyone else get close enough to find out who she really is…or hurt her again. Especially not the gorgeous stranger she meets at a nightclub, even though the hunger – and the sinful promises – in his dark eyes make her want to spill all her secrets.
Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire…and can’t stop thinking about.
Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving – and losing – a man with a dangerous job again.

For thirty-six years, Marcus Sullivan has been the responsible older brother, stepping in to take care of his seven siblings after their father died when they were children. But when the perfectly ordered future he's planned for himself turns out to be nothing but a lie, Marcus needs one reckless night to shake free from it all.

Marcus Sullivan was known for his patience. After helping to raise his seven siblings, he’d learned to wait out tantrums, fistfights, even tears.
But tonight, he was all out of patience.
He’d come to the club tonight to find a woman, to proposition her, to claim her for one no-holds-barred night, but he’d been watching the dancers for long enough to know that he wasn’t going to take a single one of them to bed. None of the women who’d walked in through the thick red curtain in the past thirty minutes had been contenders, either.
Until, suddenly, the curtain parted…and she walked in.
Marcus felt like a fist had slammed straight into his gut.
The woman was young, mid-twenties probably, and so beautiful it almost hurt to look at her. Her black leather dress left nothing to his imagination, fitting her like a second skin with wide cut-outs that ran down the side of her insane curves.
She was the one.
As she stood in the doorway and slowly scanned the crowd, every eye in the room was on her. She was magnetic, had that special something that made it impossible to pull your eyes away from her.
And then her eyes met his, illuminated by a beam of light in the dark room, and although Marcus hadn’t drunk nearly enough at Chase’s engagement party to be unsteady on his feet, one look at those clear blue eyes had him fighting for balance.
What was wrong with him?
He needed to remember, at all times, what tonight was about. Pleasure. Not emotion. Not a relationship. It was okay for certain parts of his body below the waist to react like a match had been lit from nothing more than looking at the woman. Everything else was off-limits. He wasn’t looking for a woman to respect.
And he definitely wasn’t going to fall in love.
The dangerous curves began to shift beneath the thin layer of leather as she moved straight toward him, never once breaking stride, even in impossibly high heels. Marcus couldn’t miss the challenge in her gaze, a look that asked if he was man enough to handle her.
He’d always liked his women tall and slim, not barely coming up to his chest like this one. A voice in his head told him she was way too young for him, young enough that if this were any other night, he’d walk away from her now.
But he wasn’t planning on walking away from whatever this woman offered. Not until first light.
And definitely not until he’d had his fill of those curves.

When his girlfriend joins the army; Theodore Sway is left to raise their daughter on his own. His shitty job barely covers the ever-rising cost of his San Francisco neighborhood. When Lulu is accepted at a hipster private school, Theo is forced to find a better job. He does what any good parent would – he becomes a stripper.
Theo sacrifices his ego, his morals, and his body hair so his daughter can have the kind of childhood he’s always dreamt about. With the encouragement of his not-so-helpful club brothers and Sylvie, his ex-stripper BFF, Sway struggles to maintain balance between his sexy stage persona and his role as the world’s okayest dad.

Nicole was born and raised in California. She claims to be a San Francisco native, however she's lived in both Northern and Southern California. She credits her creativity to the fact that she attended 12 schools between kindergarten and her senior year in high school. Her nomadic childhood allowed her to reinvent herself often. Some might say she was a liar. While others see the stories she told as a coping mechanism. Twelve schools, in six cities, in twelve years - give her a break. Today she channels her storytelling ability into writing novels. Long story short - kids that lie become writers.

Excerpt #1:
Most of my parenting skills were derived from animated sitcoms and Adam Sandler movies. My father rarely made a special appearance in my life, so guys like Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin were my mentors. I’ve never strangled my daughter or attempted to run her over with a car, and yet, I’d still take second place to Homer for father of the year.
Because one: I can’t afford a car.
And two: I don’t have a killer job in a nuclear facility that probably offers an excellent benefits package.
Fatherhood has been a learn-as-you-go experience for me. I can’t tell you how many times I wrapped my daughter in a t-shirt and plastic bag because I forgot to buy diapers. Or fed her fish-shaped crackers and apple juice for dinner. And maybe, just maybe, Lulu’s first word was shit.
Could’ve been sit or spit.
Tonight, I’m upping my game. I’m going full Mike Brady. Minus the suit and tie.
Minus clothes period.
If there is one thing television has taught me; it’s this:
Good fathers make sacrifices.
Whether it’s giving up on your dream to play professional baseball or shaving all your body hair, good dads provide a better life for the people they love. Believe it or not, there are men in this world who put their children first. I’ve never actually met one of these unicorns, but I’m pretty sure they exist. If things work out with my new job; I’ll be shitting rainbows by the end of the month.
I turn off the shower, pull a towel from the silver bar on the wall, and perform a sniff test. I try to hit the laundry mat once a week, but when you have to decide between clean towels and eating; a case of ramen noodles wins every time.
The struggle is real; but it won’t last forever. One day I’ll have so many fresh fucking towels I’ll need a closet to hold them all.
Goals are good.
Clean towels are even better.

Bad Boss - Clarissa Wild

Book & Author Details:

Bad Boss
by Clarissa Wild
Publication date: July 19th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

What do men want more than anything? Money and women.
As the CEO of one of the biggest companies in the city, I am one lucky man.
Everyone wants a taste of what I’ve got to offer, and it’s massive. Girls fight over me in droves.
In my fantasy, of course. I had to make some sacrifices to get to the top.
To protect myself and the company, I always have to hide my dirty little secret…
I’m a panty sniffer.
What? A man has needs. Mine are just a bit more… outrageous. Instead of dating, I hoard panties.
Except it’s about to blow up in my face.
Because a beautiful girl just showed up for a job interview … the same girl I just bought a pair of panties from anonymously…
And what do I do?
I let my junk do the thinking, and hire her as my intern.

Author’s note: Don’t take it too hard, it’s just a book, not a big D. But this guy does have one. I’m not kidding. His schlong is huge and his ego is too, so beware. And as always … if you don’t like slapstick jokes and corny romance, don’t bother to read.

“The shower’s over there.” I point at my bathroom. “In case you wanna take a shower. Or something.” Oh god, why did I have to make it sound so pervy?
“I’m fine,” he says. “I just wanna get dry and get back to work.”
For a moment there, I’m actually disappointed. Now I won’t get to see his sexy abs and imagine running my fingers all over them. I wonder what he looks like.
Seriously, Lesley? Stooping so low for some action?
I should definitely have more sex, just to prevent myself from craving him. I mean, I do like casual sex, but I’ve been so busy running my panty-scheme and trying to find a job that I just don’t have the time for sex. Let alone a boyfriend. Nope. I definitely need to find some random hookup. That, or pull my trusty vibrator from the closet.
Especially when he just takes off his shirt … right here in my living room.
I gulp.
The shoulder and back muscles that appear beneath capture my attention, and not just a little bit. My eyes are practically bulging out of my head as he marches toward the bathroom and throws his shirt down with little to no care.
That sexy body dragged me out of the water. He lifted me up and held me close to him as he tried to bring me to the shore. I came so close … and then I screwed it for myself. Why did I do that again? Oh right, because I want to be my own boss. Stupid. I should’ve just let him touch me.
Oh, yes. I’m practically drooling over my shoes at the thought. Fuck.
Roll in that damn tongue, girl.
He throws his jacket on the counter and puts his shoes on the floor. Then he pulls off his soaked socks and pants, revealing his mighty calves. He must go to the gym often to look like this, but my question is … Who’s he doing all the work for? Another girl? Not that it should matter. I mean, I don’t have a shot. I shouldn’t even take a shot; he’s my damn boss.
Annoyed with myself and my own dirty thoughts, I furrow my brows, but still, I can’t take my eyes off him.
He turns around and stares right back at me.
And I’m left horrified and stunned.
“Are you looking at me?” A smug grin spreads across his face.
“N-no, I wasn’t,” I stammer, barely able to keep my eyes from his abs, which are now clearly visible as he’s turned my way.
He’s so damn sexy, and to think that I was in the water with … that. I’m impressed. I never thought he’d be this good looking. I wasn’t looking hard enough. Then again, he’s still kind of an ass.
He snorts. “Yeah, you were.”
